TCS Weekly Update 5-3-2018

Dear Thomaston Center School Families,

This week students completed the English Language Arts portion of the state-required Smarter Balanced Assessment.  Next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, May 8-10, 2018, students will be taking the mathematics portion of the assessment.  We appreciate your help in making sure your child gets a good night's rest and eats breakfast before coming to school each day. Also, if possible, please have your child bring a set of headphones or earbuds with them each day, which they will use during an audio portion of the test. Headphones will be provided to students who do not bring their own. In the event that your child is absent during either scheduled test day, he or she will provided time to make-up the test at a later date.  Last week, the students received the results from the fitness portion of the assessment.  Questions about the assessment may be directed to Mrs. Wojtczak at [email protected]

We have been working hard at the business of learning at Thomaston Center School!  In an effort to provide more effective communication and to share information on how we are meeting academic needs of our students, we have been sending home periodic curricular updates to families on a grade level basis.  These updates include information on what skills and content students are working on in each of the classes on the grade level as well as offer suggestions for families on how they may help support their child at home.  Please see the attachments for further information.
