TCS Music and Art Letter 2018- 2019

Dear Thomaston Center School Families,

Thomaston Center School is proud of our arts program.  In addition to our general music classes, we have an amazing band and choral program that performs throughout the year and is coordinated by our music teacher, Ms. Kate Zitnay.    Furthermore, we have a wonderful art program facilitated by the 2018 Thomaston Teacher of the Year Ms. Laura Johnston.  These programs are open to all Center School students.

Ms. Zitnay will be available during Open House to discuss the band and choral program.  However, we wanted to provide families with information ahead of time as these programs will begin early in the year.  A parent meeting regarding instrument rentals will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 6:00 pm so families can learn about the option of renting musical instruments.  After the meeting, families are welcome to stay for our Annual Ice Cream Social!

  • Scrapbooking Papers and Wrapping Paper
  • Fabric Scraps, Ribbon, Buttons, Needles and Thread
  • Egg Cartons, Paper Plates and Cardboard (cut into painting sizes)
  • Paper Towel Tubes, Toilet paper tubes, straws, toothpicks and masking/duct tape
  • Smocks- The best smock is an old, large t-Shirt of yours that goes on easily without buttons

We hope to see you on August 27, 2018 at 4:00 for our Thomaston Center School Open House.  We look forward to an enriching and successful year with our students.

Sincerely,
