January 4, 2018

Dear Thomaston Center School Families,

A very happy 2018 to all!  As we discussed during our morning announcements on Tuesday, the January is a traditional time for setting goals and creating resolutions.  Perhaps this year you may choose to set some reading resolutions at home with your child.  Please click on this link for a list of 100 Reading Resolutions from Scholastic that may help you get started: 100 New Years Reading Resolutions

Speaking of reading, tomorrow we launch our second book of our One School, One Book initiative.  Students will receive a copy of our book during our Character Assembly.  The assembly is scheduled for 8:30 on Friday, January 5, 2018.  If there is a delayed opening, we will begin the assembly at 10:30.  If there is no school on Friday, we will hold the assembly on Wednesday, January 10 at 8:30.  All are invited to attend.

On Friday, students will be receiving the results of the fitness assessments that were taken earlier this year.  Please check your child’s backpack tomorrow!  Questions about the results should be directed to Mrs. Wojtczak at

As a reminder, this week is a C week.  Therefore, Mrs. McAtee’s class, Mr. McMahon’s class, and Mrs. Knowlton’s class will have music when they have specials tomorrow.  Mr. Grabherr’s class, Mrs. Rozzi’s class and Mrs. Lascko’s class will have physical education when they have specials tomorrow, and Mr. Dwan’s class, Ms. Fuller’s class, and Mrs. Protzmann’s class will have technology education when they have specials tomorrow.  Since we will be having an assembly during the WIN block, band students will not need their instruments.

As always, we appreciate your interest and support of your child’s education.
