Summer Reading Challenge Information

August 28, 2014

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

At the beginning of the summer, we invited all students to participate in the Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge by reading as many books as possible and recording them in the Reading Journal provided.  It is now time for students to bring their Reading Journals in to school. All students who bring in a reading log will be given a coupon to choose a book at the October Scholastic Book Fair, courtesy of the Thomaston PTA. Students who read and log more than ten books at their reading level will be honored with a Reading Achievement Certificate.  Attached please find a copy of the reading log

In addition, Thomaston Center School is issuing its own special reading challenge to students: if 90% of the students turn in reading logs, all TCS students will be awarded wrist bands and be treated to a “Tops in Reading Celebration” – a day of fun activities.  Reading logs must be returned to homeroom teachers by September 5, 2014.

Students, please do your part to make this special reading event happen!

Sincerely,
